VISCOUNT RACING LTD.
Viscount ocean yacht races are �back to basics, designed for traditional, enthusiastic and amateur sailors racing as a team.
The Viscount series of yacht races cover the oceans with the: Viscount Round Africa; the Viscount Gulf-Indian Ocean, and the Viscount Round Mediterranean races. Plans are being finalised to add the Viscount Atlantic-Caribbean yacht race. This race will bring together the famous cities of St. Petersburg, Russia with St. Petersburg, Florida, USA.
The yachts, supplied by Viscount, are all built to the same specification specifically for trans-ocean sailing, with +/- 14 crew. This provides equality in equipment, and as a result, the races will be based on team effort, skill and stamina of the crews.
The Viscount races are serious yachting challenges, short enough for serious amateurs, and long enough to embark on an exciting and satisfying Olympian quest without giving up ones normal life style.
These races are managed by the Viscount professional team, headed by Captain Iain C. Jones, President, member of the worlds premier yacht racing association, ..RORC, .. Royal Ocean Racing Club. He is assisted in Project Planning by Jason Clift, and in the International Promotion by Chad Simpson. |

The Viscount Round Mediterranean Yacht Race
The Viscount Round Mediterranean Yacht Races are designed for amateur Yacht Clubs, Sailing Clubs and Sailing Teams from around the world. The Race is designed for enthusiastic yacht clubs and sailors from around the world who are ensured a strong and enthusiastic following from the fellow yachts people based in the Mediterranean.
With the enormous activities in the Mediterranean, it can be assured that there will also be strong support from commercial sponsors and other Mediterranean cities and countries.
The race will add new dimensions to the traditional Mediterranean yachting, especially with the enormous developments in the marina world on the Eastern Mediterranean coast.
With One of the nominated Mediterranean Marina, where the Start-Finish line will be , it will encourage many other cruising yachts-people to visit the hosted country and its yachting and tourist facilities.
The Viscount Round Mediterranean Yacht Races will be an initial series of three races, held every two years.

The Viscount St. Petersburg Atlantic-Caribbean Yacht Race

The Viscount St. Petersburg Atlantic-Caribbean Yacht Race will bring together the country of Russia and its historic city of St. Petersburg, with the American city of sun, St. Petersburg, Florida, USA.
The yachts will sail through the Baltic Sea, North Atlantic Ocean, to St. Petersburg, Florida, USA, Caribbean Sea, back across the Atlantic Ocean to Europe and back home to St. Petersburg, Russia via Spain, England, Belgium, and Helsinki, Finland, in an international Yachting Extravaganza. Russia is making immense inroads in both yachting and international sport in general. Sochi, for the Winter Olympics is a wonderful example. |
THE VISCOUNT ROUND THE GULF INDIAN OCEAN YACHT RACE Starting from the Arabian Gulf, the race will be a 15,000 nautical mile sailing challenge around the whole Indian Ocean, including Australian and Indonesia.
The yachts will head through the Straits of Hormuz into the Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean. They will continue down the Indian Ocean to the Seychelles, then to Mauritius, back to the East African coast, with a well earned stopover at an attractive South African port.

AN INVITATION TO JOIN THE VISCOUNT WORLD OF OCEAN YACHT RACING Sailing and yacht racing is expanding rapidly around the world. We have Round the World single handed record beaters, the Americas Cup drawing record attention and Whitbread-Volvo seeking out new routes. The ISAF and Olympic competitions are also taking place all over the globe with enormous success.
